Monarchs in Iowa

Want to learn more about Monarch butterflies and why everyone is talking about them? This is your opportunity!

Our beloved, iconic Monarch butterfly is in trouble. Because of past and ongoing habitat loss in both its breeding grounds and its wintering grounds, Monarch numbers have decreased drastically over the last several decades.

Local naturalist Cindy Bogner of  Monarchs in Eastern Iowa will share the magic behind the Monarch life cycle, its long migration, and why these make them so special. Learn what you can do to help ensure we continue to enjoy their wonder for years to come.

If circumstances allow, you may even get to see the butterflies in their various stages of their development, from egg to butterfly!
