Birds of Prey of Iowa

Shawn Hawks, Program Coordinator for the Iowa Raptor Project, offers a program describing species of raptors that are found in Iowa, some basic identification details, and natural history of the habitats in which they are found. He will talk about populations status, known threats, and what is being done by the Macbride Raptor Project and other organizations to understand population biology so these fascinating birds can be better protected. He may have a live raptor, but he will certainly bring along taxidermy mounts, along with wings and feet. This program will be adapted for all ages, so families are welcome!
